The Post Workout Mango Lassi

Mango lassi is most commonly found in India and Pakistan though it is gaining popularity worldwide. It is made from yogurt, water and mango pulp. Our friend @photograbber was kind enough to share this healthy version of the mango lassi with us. It makes for a great post workout shake!

Here’s the recipe in its original form, feel free to substitute the mango with your fruit of choice:

  • 9 oz. Plain Yogurt
  • 4.5 oz. Water
  • 7 oz. Frozen Mango
  • 5g Creatine
  • 5g Glutamine
  • 2 Scoops of Vanilla Whey Protein

Blend to desired thickness and enjoy!!

  1. This seems like a good shake. The whey protein is essential after a workout, and the mango is good for you and tastes good. Glutamine is always a good thing, and will help you recover faster.
    As for the creatine, I would be sure to include some additional information on it:

    Creatine is not recommended for everyone. It will put water in your muscles, making them appear larger. This is a plus for a lot of people. It will also bring some gains in strength, but usually nothing amazing. Other people do not want to take creatine, since it causes bloating and water retention. You will gain weight, but it will not all be muscle. If you are trying to cut weight, or get ripped, I would not recommend taking a creatine supplement. Also, be sure to drink a lot of water while on creatine, or you run the risk of dehydration and kidney stones.

  2. I absolutely LOVE mango lassi, so I will definitely try this recipe! Thanks!

    • It’s actually really good… but that’s our humble opinion. One reader suggested that he’ll try it with 4 scoops of protein (no creatine or glutamine) but he has yet to get back to us. Feel free to alter to your personal taste! You’ve got to check out our story of the day!!

  3. Wow, that sure looks good! I might have to try one of those.

  4. Filiberto Tinner says:

    creatine supplements are great since it increases your ability to lift heavier weights when bodybuilding.;
